Brethren,

I am disappointed at the thought of us not being able to meet together for at least the next six months.

We could be excused for pessimism, but I'm not pessimistic. In fact, I'm very optimistic about the future of our fraternity, especially if we practice Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. Together, we can come through this Pandemic in good shape.

Let's keep regular contact, and encourage Lodge members to take advantage of COVID-19 opportunities.

Grand Lodge can do this by sharpening communications, building relationships with key stakeholders including media and government, so that the community can better understand our values and principles.

At Lodge level, we have learned about Zoom for our meetings, learning and training, and having fun. We can meet with Freemasons from around the world.

Deputy Grand Master Tony Bucca and I saw this at Brighton District Lodge this week where a Fellowcraft, with a senior member, developed a series of five-minute infobytes. It was powerful because it was simple and developed within the Lodge.

How many other innovative ideas are there waiting to be unleashed?

There is much wisdom, talent, and enthusiasm amongst our members. They do extraordinary things, not for reward, but because they love Freemasonry. Who are they? Tell the Grand Secretary and we will let our fraternity know.

Fraternally,

MWBro. Richard Elkington

Grand Master
