Lodges to remain closed across Victoria
All Freemasons Victoria Lodges and Masonic Centres state-wide are to remain closed, until further notice.
At a specially convened meeting, the Masonic Governing Council made this resolution today (Friday), following a recommendation from this morning's meeting of the Freemasons Victoria Future Recovery Team. The FFRT includes a number of medical experts.
The Grand Master, MWBro. Richard Elkington, attended both meetings. He and other MGC members attended the meeting of the FFRT, which always places the health and welfare of members as its highest priority. The MGC met at short notice, shortly afterwards, to enable lodges across Victoria to have some certainty about arrangements as soon as possible.
The next review will be considered by the FFRT after the next State Government arrangements are announced in about one week's time. Any FFRT recommendations will again be considered by the Masonic Governing Council.
Fraternally,
RWBro. Garry Runge OAM JP
Grand Secretary
