REPEAL OF RULES 178 AND 239 OF THE BOOK OF CONSTITUTIONS

At the September Quarterly Communication members voted to repeal Rules 178 and 239 of the Book of Constitutions.

The removal of Rule 239 means a candidate can progress through the Three Degrees at the discretion of the Lodge, subject to compliance with the requirements of Rule 237 of the Book of Constitutions.

The removal of Rule 178 means that a Master Mason may be invested into any office.

In addition, the Grand Master has agreed that an Entered Apprentice or Fellowcraft Freemason can be invested as a Steward, Organist or Choirmaster.

We are confident these changes will provide opportunities for newer members to be involved and promote greater harmony and inclusion.
