All Masonic Centres remain closed

All Masonic Centres and Lodges in Victoria are to remain closed until further notice. In-person meetings cannot take place.

A 17-0 vote of members of the Freemasons Future Recovery Team present at a meeting on Friday 10 September put forward this recommendation to the Grand Master. One member, who was unable to attend, proposed an alternative plan. That will be considered further in coming weeks.

The FFRT came to its decision with an abundance of caution, particularly given the older demographic of the Freemasons Victoria membership.

In regional Victoria, where gatherings of up to 10 people are allowed in some venues such as hotels, members of Lodges may be able to meet socially at those locations to maintain some contact. Zoom meetings and phone calls amongst members are encouraged during these difficult times.

The FFRT will continue to monitor the State Government's decisions. Freemasons Victoria encourages members to consider prompt double vaccinations, after they seek individual health advice appropriate to them.

The Grand Secretariat sends its best wishes to all members and their loved ones. We encourage everyone to stay well, stay close and to stay connected.

Fraternally,

RWBro. Garry Runge OAM JP
Grand Secretary
