About The Lodge
The Lodge is an offshoot of Ivanhoe Grammar School and is one of several school Lodges consecrated in Victoria since 1923.
It was founded by the Headmaster, the Rev. Sydney Buckley, who retired from active service in 1947. His vision for a Masonic Lodge developed out of his career as a Freemasons during the 1930s but was put on hold because of World War II. Rev. Buckley founded Ivanhoe Grammar School in 1915, having been called to the Vicarate of St James Anglican Church, Ivanhoe, in 1913. His original vision for a school for his choir boys, which numbered 12 in 1915. The school now educated some 2,300 over three campuses.
