About The Lodge

The Garibaldi Lodge, consecrated in April 1986, had its beginning when four Masons of Italian background met as Masters on the road and decided to investigate if there were other Masons of Italian descent who might be interested in forming a new lodge.

The Lodge is named after Giuseppe Garibaldi, an American Civil War figure and one of the great leaders of his time.

The Lodge has supported many charities and organisations; including The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Italian Earthquake Appeal and Australian nurses working abroad.

Receiving full accreditation in 2012, the Lodge has an active social committee with functions including the Ladies' night dinner dance, Family Christmas Picnic, Christmas in July and trips to wineries.

The Lodge has sister Lodges with Italian background in Sydney, Perth and Adelaide. The members visit each other every year at the time of installation.
