About The Lodge

Having celebrated its 1000th meeting on 14th April 2006, Fairfield Lodge is proud to be a dynamic and prominent Lodge of Melbourne.

The iconic meeting place for Lodge members; the IVALDA Masonic Centre (IMC) was completed with a unique “dome roof”‘ in 1925. Owners of the building determined to call it IVALDA from the first two letters of the adjacent suburbs, i.e. IVanhoe, ALphington and DArebin. Being an active part of the local community is essential to the fabric of the Lodge, with donations to charities including the Heart Research Centre, Diabetes Vic., Guide Dogs Vic. and recently, fundraising to purchase a Defibrillator for the IVALDA Masonic Centre.

The Lodge has 78 members including 10 new initiates aged between 20 and 40. It is pleased that it attracts individual and group joining members, who all possess a diverse range of knowledge, skills and interests.

Members enjoy an array of social opportunities throughout the year, with social functions held in local restaurants, Loyola Secondary College Hospitality Students (Iggys), BBQ at Simpson Army Barracks, Annual Children's Christmas Party and Picnic at Brunswick Trugo Club since 1929.

Some Fairfield Lodge members meet at Alta Vista (Mains), 5/ 906 Main Road, Eltham on the 3rd Wed of each month at 9.30am for coffee and a chat, breakfast is also available. Active and non-freemasons are most welcome to attend.
