About The Lodge

Elrona Lodge was formed from the amalgamation of the Napier Lodge No. 384, Eltham Lodge No. 629 and Rosanna Lodge No. 525 as a result of a letter of enquiry from the Napier Lodge, being put to the Lodges resident in the Greensborough Masonic Centre.

Eltham Lodge was the first to show a genuine interest in the proposal and formal discussions were entered into in mid 1987. The Rosanna Lodge then entered into the discussions. A steering committee was formed and after months of negotiations an agreement to amalgamate was granted in April 1988.
The new lodge was named ELRONA using the first letters from each name of the amalgamating lodges, starting from the youngest to the oldest and retaining the oldest number No. 384. The Lodge was consecrated the 30 July 1988. This took place with WBro. Percy Rendall Box being installed as the Foundation Master by Grand Master of the time MWBro. John W. Connell AM and the 1988/89 Grand Lodge team.

Napier Lodge No. 384 was consecrated on Friday 10 July 1925 at the Fitzroy Town Hall. The foundation Master was WBro. A.L.Johnson. The Sponsor Lodge was the Lord Carrington Lodge No. 111.
Rosanna Lodge No. 525 was consecrated on Monday 29 November 1937 at the Masonic Temple in Heidelberg. The Foundation Master was WBro. H.E. Guy. The sponsor Lodge was Heidelberg No. 139.
Eltham Lodge No. 629 was consecrated on Wednesday 1 October 1947 at the Ivalda Temple in Darebin. The foundation Master was WBro. A.M. Lowerson. The sponsor Lodge was the Greensborough Lodge No. 374
