About The Lodge

Established in 1857, Combermere Lodge No. 752 on the register of the United Grand Lodge of England is the only remaining English Constitution Lodge in the State of Victoria, having declined to join the United Grand Lodge of Victoria when it was established in 1889. All Freemasons in good standing are most welcome to visit.

Unaffiliated English Constitution Freemasons are encouraged to join. Please refer to the Lodge web site www.combermerelodge.org.au

Sir William John Clarke, the first Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Victoria, was proposed and balloted for as a joining member of Combermere Lodge on 18 October 1883, being District Grand Master Irish Constitution (D.G.M.I.C.), and resigned from Combermere Lodge in September 1885.

He was subsequently proposed, as a re-joining member, on 15 March 1888 and balloted for on 19 April 1888. He remained a member of Combermere Lodge until his death on 15 May 1897.
