About The Lodge

Freemasonry has been a part of the town of Echuca since 1865 when” The Echuca Lodge of Advancement, No. 1059″ (E.C) was formed.

It continued to operate until 1880 when the name was changed to “Millewa Lodge, No. 1059″ (E.C).
In 1889 the members of the Millewa Lodge agreed to the Articles of Union of the proposed United Grand Lodge of Victoria, and its allegiance was transferred to the Victorian Constitution on 26 March 1889, becoming ” Millewa Lodge, No. 47″

A second Lodge “Echuca Lodge, No. 577” was consecrated in 1945 and both Lodges operated in harmony for some 66 years.

A third Lodge “William Campbell Lodge, No. 805” was consecrated in 1959 and operated for 22 years before surrendering its Warrant in 1981.

In 2011 it became obvious that the number of active members was insufficient to support both Lodges in Echuca; and as a consequence, both Lodges decided, that for the good of Freemasonry, it was time to look at the possibility of amalgamating.

At the same time St. Johns of Rochester Lodge, No. 75 was experiencing difficulties and expressed an interest in joining the amalgamation.

Discussions on amalgamation increased and an agreement was reached between the three Lodges resulting in the formation and consecration of the “Campaspe Valley Lodge, No. 937” in 2011.
