Did you know that Mozart was a Freemason?

3MBS Fine Music Melbourne is proud to present the 2017 Mozart Marathon, Australia’s largest classical chamber music event. Taking place on Sunday 26 February 2017 between 9.30am and 9.30pm, this event promises to be a highlight on the Melbourne music calendar for 2017.

Across six sessions, you’ll hear 85 of Australia’s finest chamber and vocal musicians perform 22 of Mozart’s greatest masterpieces including: Piano Concerto No. 12 in A major, K. 414, Serenade No. 10 in B-flat major, K. 361 ‘Gran Partita’, Clarinet Concerto, Mozart Piano Sonata No. 11 A major K. 331, Piano Trio No. 5 in C major K.548, Serenade No. 13 in G major, K. 525, ‘Eine kleine Nachtmusik’ and much, much more.

In a new addition to the Marathon program, young music lovers can explore the life of Mozart through his music – beginning with the child prodigy’s very first composition at only five years of age! The Mozart Minors program for children 4-12 years is a magical and informative musical journey through the music of Mozart’s childhood, with performances for piano, string quartet, and clarinet quintet. Suitable for children aged 4-12 years, Mozart Minors features performances by some of Melbourne's leading musicians from Melbourne Symphony, Australian String Quartet and Australian National Academy of Music.
