Benevolence / Charity Challenge   Go back

Charity Challenge
The Board of Benevolence holds regular Charity Challenges to support and encourage local lodges in their charitable efforts. Charity Challenge nights are generally held per district and each participating lodge is invited to select a charity to support and present a project to attending representatives of the Board of Benevolence. Each lodge “pitches” their project and the three best organised, well thought out, ambitious projects are awarded assistance grants from the Board of Benevolence in increments of $3000, $2000 and $1000 respectively.

Projects not awarded on the night are often encouraged to apply for assistance directly to the Board of Benevolence through regular channels. The very first lodge Charity Challenge project awarded an assistance grant was to aid Breast Cancer Research and many other worth charitable projects have since been supported.
